白木蓮(ハクモクレン) Mulan white magnolia

白木蓮はモクレンの仲間で、真っ白な花が春の訪れを感じさせてくれる落葉高木の1つです。花が開くと風が上品な香りを運び、心を和ませてくれますよ。

白木蓮は、モクレン属の植物です。厳密には木蓮（別名、紫木蓮）とは異なります。白木蓮は樹高10～15mほどに生長し、春になると新葉が出る前に大型で厚みのある白い卵形の花を上向きにたくさん咲かせます。

紫木蓮に比べて開花時期が早く、2～3日ほど咲いた後に枯れてしまいます。花びらは肉厚で、満開になると強い香りを放つことが特徴です。

Shiraki lotus is a plant of the genus Magnolia. Strictly speaking, it differs from the lily lotus (aka, purple trees). Shiraki lotus grows to about 10 ~ 15 m in height, and in the spring, before the new leaves come out, a large and thick white egg-shaped flower blooms a lot upward.

Flowering time is earlier than Purple Thread Lotus, it will die after blooming for about 2 to 3 days. The petals are thick and characterized by releasing a strong aroma when it is in full bloom.
