寒牡丹（牡丹、学名：Paeonia suffruticosa）

（牡丹は落葉樹なのにちょっと考えても変です。）

お客様のニーズにある程度合わせることが出来、

うまくすれば全株満開にするのも可能でしょう。

何であれ牡丹の促成栽培が可能になったのは

生産者たちの努力の賜（たまもの）でしょう。

一方「寒牡丹」は人手を介さず、

自然の状態で時期が来れば自ずと花を咲かせます。

ただデリケートな品種ですから、

気候の状態によって敏感に反応し、

場合によっては開花せずに終わってしまうものもあります。

これも自然にゆだねるからこその事象でしょう。

ひとたび咲けばその姿はいかにも冬の花らしく、

その風情は晩秋及び、年の瀬の雰囲気でもあるし、

はたまた気温が下がれば花の形も変わり新春の雰囲気でもあります。
