ユキヤナギ（雪柳、学名：Spiraea thunbergii）

ユキヤナギは春、枝垂れた枝先の長い穂に、たくさんの花を咲かせてひときわ目を引き、花壇や公園によく植えられている植物です。近年は、‘フジノ・ピンク’などの花弁の外側がピンクの品種が植えられることも多く、白一色だったユキヤナギにも色幅がふえました。

ユキヤナギの和名は、葉がヤナギに似て、白い多数の花が、雪をかぶったように見えることからつけられました。庭木としてだけではなく、切り花としてもよく利用されます。
