アセビ(馬酔木)　

アセビ(馬酔木)　は、厳冬～春に、白または桃色の小花を房のように多数つける ツツジ目ツツジ科アセビ属の耐寒性常緑低木です。 明治時代に発刊された有名な歌誌と同じく「アシビ」とも読みます。 葉は濃緑色をしており、互生してつきます。 複総状花序をした花穂は、スズラン(鈴蘭)や、ドウダンツツジ(満天星躑躅)　 の花に似た壷形、または、釣鐘型をしており、下垂して咲きます。 小花の先端は浅く５裂します。 ウマ（馬）　や、　 シカ（鹿）　などの草食動物が食べると、 有毒で酔ったようになることに因んで名前が付けられました。 秋に炸果(サクカ)状の果実を付けます。 用途は、木が庭木や盆栽などに、木材が床柱にされます。

Asebi (caterpillar) is a cold-resistant evergreen shrub of the Azalea Azaleae Asebacea, which places many white or pink florets like clusters from severe winter to spring. As well as famous songs published in the Meiji Era, I also read "Ashibi". The leaves are dark green, they stick with each other. Flower blooming double bells has a pot shape resembling a flower of a lily of the valley (Suzuran) or Daedanzuki (満 満 躑躅 躑躅), or a bell shape, and it blooms downwards. The tip of the floret will be shallow 5 tears. When herbivorous animals such as horses (horse) and deer (deer) eat it, they were named because they became toxic and drunk. In autumn we will add fruit like sake. For applications, trees are garden trees, bonsai etc., wood is made into a castle.
